Our program

Project Emmanuel is a 6-month settlement program aimed at supporting new Canadians to adapt to the culture and acquire essential life skills through community partnerships. The program is designed to prepare them for life in Canada while giving them ample time for personal pursuits.
The program has the following features which will require participants commitment to:

NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR OUR 2024 PROGRAM

Communal Living

Individuals participating in this program will reside together in a single house and be overseen by the residence directors who act as both mentors and leaders. In this communal living arrangement, residents will alternate taking on household responsibilities while gaining important skills for their future self-sufficient living.

Community Partner Programs

The program has interfaced with trusted community partners to help participants transition to independent living in Canada through education, training, and community engagement. The partners aim to provide a tailored experience and real-life opportunities, helping participants gain confidence with the English language, skills, cultural background and support needed to thrive in their new home and become active members of the community.

GCBI North

is a Bible institute that has been involved in teaching the bible for the last 15 years. They design a program which will use scripture as a tool to examine the cultural foundations of Canadian Culture and Society, in order to provide participants with a chance to enhance and exercise their English language skills.

Kerr Street Mission

has been providing essential programs and services for families and their children for over twenty years. They have many opportunities available in their operations which can provide relevant Canadian workplace experience as a launching pad to their careers.

NEIGHBOURHOOD CARE NETWORK

aims to strengthen the community’s ability to care for those in need. They are dedicated to giving program participants the opportunity to interact and serve the local community, offering them the cultural and language immersion required for a smooth settlement in Canada.
